On Friday 5 September, despite the severe weather conditions, Agrical employees travelled from across the UK to Ilkley, West Yorkshire to meet at the beautiful Denton Hall. The grand 18th century house, set in 2,500 acres of countryside and with views across Ilkley Moor, made for a stunning venue.
The meeting provided a good opportunity to discuss the future development of Agrical, following the Management Buy-Out earlier this year. It proved that the momentum and focus on quality and delivery injected by the MBO is certainly continuing and the whole company is moving together towards growth and enhancement of Agrical.
Employee performance awards were presented to individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to Agrical over the past year. Diane Tomkinson of our Claims Management Unit; Richard Wakeham, Adjuster in the Northern Region and the Lloyds and London Market; and Mike Clementson, Adjuster in the Northern Region and with responsibility for managing Agrical’s growing commercial sector, were each recognised for their hard work and exceptional performance.
An enjoyable evening followed, with dinner and the opportunity to socialise with colleagues from all corners of the country. Dafydd Jones even tried to introduce some Welsh songs!
Ron Caley delivered a very entertaining presentation the following morning on interesting, unusual and intriguing losses from the previous year. This was a great reminder that insurance is interesting, particularly when props include You Tube and animated bears!
Unfortunately, due to the torrential rain, we were unable to run the planned clay shooting competition so the revered Agrical wooden spoon is yet to be awarded! …Until next time.
